- Spring & Summer — April through August: Warmer weather and generally calmer winds can provide favorable conditions for sight fishing on the open flats. These months also overlap with the primary Isla Blanca permit season and stronger opportunities for bonefish.

Fall & Winter — September through March: Changing winds and occasional northern cold fronts can create rougher conditions on exposed flats. Protected lagoons, mangrove shorelines and backcountry areas can provide alternative fishing areas when wind affects the more open water.
