I'm an Endorsed & FULL TIME guide, we receive over $30K. from our sponsorships yearly, so we don't need to upraise our price to pay out someone else to guide you or a commition to a travel agency that has sent you!!!, we like to keep AWAY all the MIDDLE MEN!!!, This is a family business so we do not need for them to promote us or send us clients and then have their commition FEE passed on to you!!??,

all we need to do is charge what it's right and focus on TAKING the bread & butter to the house, AND making you spend an awesome day, so hopefully you find our prices reasonable and fair, IF NOT, then let me know and we can discuss it upon your budget frame!!!!

PRICES FOR THE CANCUN WEATHERS

NIGHT-FISHING: have same prices us above with matching hrs: YOU can either fish fully night hrs. or you can fish 2hrs day time (evening) and the rest in the dark, this way your eyes can get acclimatize to the light change if that's your prefference for seeking fishing comodity!!

PRICES FOR THE ISLA BLANCA WATERS

Due to it's distance (40min. North of Cancun) and Vast size of the area (40+ times larger than Cancun Lagoons), only these schedulles are offered in order to reach the good fishing grounds and fish the best out of them, any shorter schedulles will not work out & just be a waste of time for the ISLABLANCA area.

These rates are for one or two people onboard either fishing or just along for the ride
I charge for the boat not per person and the skiff has capacity for 2 people Plus me (the guide).
3rd. person? 30% is added to above rates, (I must then use my 19ft skiff for those situations)

I do not do half days if you're a 1st timer or Novice and firmly advise you not to do so if you are??, unless you are looking for a boat ride!!!, why?? Because a ½ day will not be sufficient time for you on this type of fishing. I can’t do too much agains't these fish in 4 hrs. (grand slam species), specially if I have 2 anglers aboard, if we run 1hr. to different flats one way and 1hr. back, you only have 2hrs. Left to fish, that means each angler will have 1hr. of fishing time (whether fly or spinning, only 1 person fishes at a time and on the bow, while partner sits, watches and waits for his turn, why?? Cause I can’t have 2 anglers on the bow at a time, it will hamper my way to manuever the boat and get you shots on fish in many ways, examples, 1st. when polling (pushing) the boat, the front will tend to dive rather than glide, this will only reduce the speed, will be harder to catch up with a fish for a shot and take longer to cover the fishing ground, 2nd. Too much weight in front will cause more draft and limit my access to most of the flats, 3rd. The rear will kick to the sides and I would not be able to keep boat on a steady track, this would also cause more friction with water and create a huge hum coming off the stern and make it look like there’s a Croc or Shark in the area, fish will sense that and stay away from casting distance or worst, leave for good, so 2 people fishing at time does not work-out and we will not accomplish our goals. I will only work for nothing, look bad in terms of catching fish. And that, I call it a sight-seeing tour.,

Sight-seeing tours: Guides next door are specialized in such trips, you'll want to get a hold of them and for sure they'll be happy to take you out, even do just for the sake of being out there??

Depending on the type of angler is the amount of days I go out for.

(Explanation for type) I will still go out with you for a 1 day trip, no problem, but if you are a first timer or Novice for this type of fishing, my advise for you is to take at least 2 days of fishing and have found 3 days to be the ideal amount, most of our anglers find themselves getting more comfortable and relax by the 2nd day, even if you have done it before and it’s been a while you haven’t,  why? because if you do 1 day, by the time you get yourself adapted to spotting the fish, the WEIGHT of the rods, fly-lines, tippets, flies, how to handle the line on the deck, shooting, stripping and getting yourself around the boat, your day will be over, IT'S the other days when you will really start catching fish!!, You must consider all these details to achieve a good day of fishing. If they are not… Then it will be a hard trip. We call it a boat ride and a waste of money. For me it is not a business, it is a way of life and the difference is, I LIKE MY ANGLERS TO CATCH FISH!!!

PRICES INCLUDES: there are no hidden charges in the price: I furnish all the gear whether for flyfishing, Spinning or both Anglers at the same time,  PLUS: SODAS, WATER, LUNCH & LICENCES, (NO beer or alcohol allowed when fishing, believe Me, beer or alcohol will not make you do things better and faster, and the fish don’t care if you are sober or not, they will still behave the same FOR ALL

Also ROUND TRIP transportation any where in CANCUN´S hotel zone,
If you happen to be hosted outside Cancun, you will have to arrange your own transportation either thru your Hotel, Cab or even ME?, if me? a fee is added to the price and this one is depending how far you'll be staying at, my fee is symbolic, it's just to cover my extra fuel expences

How to know if guides rate is ok.

My rates are $275. (3/4 day), $350. full day. You might find lots of people at any dock claiming themselves to be guides for even less Here in Cancun, people willing to take your money are not hard to find, good & experience guides are. I have the honor to say that I’m the only serious guide in the location, I’ve been a guide for over 26 years and 20 years in these waters, so no one else comes even close, (maybe 1yr or so??) There are many that are part time guides with other jobs as a primary source of income, such as CAB drivers?? COOK'S??,  Basically, they're learning their way around the backcountry on your dime.!!!! My guess is that you'd want a guide that does this full time,!! and in season is on the water nearly 4 or 5 days a week (not once a month) and that knows where the fish are (or works very hard to find them). As I said, a guide is not hard to find, Good ones are.

The old saying: you get what you pay for, truly holds here. You'll find my rates are consistent with other top notch, full time guides in the Keys. Cause that’s all I do.

Be carefull, you can get skunk pretty easy here, just for saving some bucks you can end-up fishing off the worst skiff and with unreal gear for the sport, that we call a boat ride, and for experience, we have a saying, you either pay to catch fish or you pay just to see’am. WHAT I MEAN IS: they want to play a Basketball game on a Football field with a Golf ball,?????? believe me I don’t want to be their spectator, If you can’t fish with me, don’t do it at all. I suggest you save yourself money and a bad time. You are not here for that!!!!!

How to choose a guide to fish here.

Without doubt, a recommendation from a friend or acquaintance, is the best way to go. They've been out with the guide and understand his work ethic and his personality. If you plan fish for Tarpon, bonefish, Permit or Snook on fly or spinning, better to get a guide with proper boat and gear, who'll pole the boat and work hard to get you a shot at the fish rather than stake out, chum and wait for them to show. If you're without a clue, pick up some vital info on this type of fishing of a book or a friend that has done it before, once you have that, it’s better talking with the guide on the phone rather than mailing him, by phone you’re not giving him the time to sit down and look thru a book to collect info to answer your questions and mail you back making you think his an expert, make sure the person you’re exchanging info with is your guide and will be aboard with you, not just some body that owns the boat, collects the money, stays at office and has a monkey go with you to drive you around, don’t expect too much from this type of services, your guide will not work as hard it takes when fishing is slow, specially when only making a $40dls. wage, normally when fishing gets tough, they’ll step out of area and take you to catch just something easier and priceless, rather than putting some extra effort and only catch one fish but worth it, and worst if you go thru a booking agent, the fishing company can’t offer you the best after paying 30% or more commission, plus your guide, don’t expect to get on a 1st. class skiff and see it loaded with tons of gear and from good quality, better expect poor facilities, find a guide that when you call, his either out guiding, catching up with maintenance of boat & gear or at his tying bench, that kind of guide will always have fishing in his brains, that’s the type of guide you want, not someone that when you call is at office counting his money to see if he can buy a Hummer truck or a Porsche, once you find him and sure, Let him know your expectations on the charter so he can provide a match the client expectations service, if for some reason his book, then feel free to consult with him another option and advise, I'm often asked to recommend another guide when I am already booked on a specific date (which is hard for me cause I am not in the keys) I'll usually ask you a few questions so that I can make a better match between you and your guide. Some are better at fly fishing, some at spinning. One other side to consider is the personality of the guide. Who'd want Old Salty on the back, barking orders, yelling at you for 8hrs. Or worst, not being able to communicate?? And all this at your Expences ha, Once again, a phone call to the guide can set one at ease. If I am booked at the time of your request, any guide that I would recommend, would have to have a good reflection upon me, (work hard and pleasant to be with) and hopefully next time that angler would again call for a charter and I'll be available, so my friend, keep all this details in mind before hiring a guide on your next fishing outing, to avoid getting skunk and not getting your needs, why should not???? That’s what you’re paying for after all, ah !!!!!
